Music is a language that transcends culture, gender, class, and color. It unites, empowers, dignifies, uplifts, and stirs us to live better lives.
At B Sharp School of Music, our goal is not to just give music lessons, but to inspire our students and our community through this rich and diverse language.
Our mission is to sharpen minds through music. Time and time again, music has been proven to improve the lives of those who engage with it. Be it fine motor skills, personal discipline, improved concentration, or even working well with others, music is so much more than just a hobby. It is an expression of life well lived.
Our philosophy is that the best music comes from people that are passionate about learning and playing music. Every single one of our teachers are world-class performers who have a love for teaching students and helping them reach their highest potential. More than that, we seek to be role models to our students, hoping to inspire a love for music and for the community in which we live in. We want our students to become as passionate about music as we are because we know how music can improve the world.
At B-Sharp School of Music, our approach is two-fold:
Make Music Available to Everyone
It doesn’t matter your age or ability — if you want to become a better musician, we want to help. We’re conveniently located in charming downtown Lodi, so you won’t have to search all over town for a private studio. And we keep our rates affordable, making this an investment that’s both financially savvy and personally fulfilling for you and your family.
Build a Culture of Music
Though we are located very close to larger cities, we believe that there is music scene waiting to break out right here in our own community. All of our teachers are engaged with performance opportunities where students and their families can be involved. We also offer plenty of performance opportunities for our students, giving students ample opportunity to grow as musicians and performers.
We're not just another music studio.
We're a family.
A NOTE FROM
Hello and welcome to a place where music happens! For many years I have dreamed of opening a music school that makes music accessible to everyone regardless of age, level or goal.
A few years ago I was working in an industry that required intense licensing and mastering of several incredibly difficult exams. This sent me on a journey to understand how my mind works and why I have struggled throughout my life with various tasks.
After being evaluated by several professionals, I discovered that I had several learning disabilities. Each professional that I spent time with declared in amazement that it was a miracle that I can read and function in the world as a semi normal individual.
As I did my research, I adopted a strong belief that it was music that kept my mind sharp (pun intended). Researchers have found that there is a direct affect on the brain when a person is involved in learning and practicing a musical instrument. This can improve language, reading and math skills.
This is of course, in addition to the joy and emotional benefits that music has. As a person who’s life has been altered for the better because of music, I encourage you to consider making music learning part of your life and/or the lives of your children. As much as art is thrown to the wayside, we now have scientific research to back what many of us musicians have experienced in our musical journeys. We hope that you chose us to help you or your children to sharpen your mind through music.
