With a deep, emotional connection to music coupled with impressive technical agility, soprano Kate Bautch has portrayed roles including Gilda (Rigoletto), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), and Amy (Little Women). She has performed world premiers in both the art song and opera repertoire, the most recent being The Decameron with the Fresh Voices Festival of New Works. She was the soloist for The Opus Project’s performance of Knoxville: Summer of 1915 and was also a featured soloist in OperaWorks’ Winter Intensive Program. Ms. Bautch has performed at home and abroad, and is currently based out of Lodi and is a freelance performer in the Bay Area, as well as being on the voice faculty at Delta College.
Ms. Bautch has over a decade of teaching experience, and has worked with students of all ages. In addition to her performing and teaching schedule, she is currently developing an educational outreach program titled Common Sound which develops social emotional skills using music improvisation. Ms. Bauch holds a BA degree from Luther College, a BM from Illinois State University, and a Master of Music degree in vocal performance from the University of Northern Colorado.
